During the annual Provincial Grand Chapter Meeting of The Royal Arch Province of Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire, held on 29th June 2023, the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, EComp James Boughton surprised a very shocked but worthy Companion EComp Dick Godwin.

 The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent delivered an impassioned summary of EComp Dick’s impressive masonic history followed by the presentation of The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent’s Certificate of Meritorious Service.

Dick was Initiated on 10th March 1975 into Christopher Lodge, No2309, Buckinghamshire and was Exalted on 4th April 1977 into Horsa Dun Chapter, No3123 in Middlesex.

Dick is a member of 4 Craft and 3 Royal Arch Provinces, a founder member of 3 Lodges in 2 Provinces and 3 Chapters in Buckinghamshire. An honorary Member of 12 Craft Lodges and a Subscribing Member of 3 lodges in 2 Provinces and 2 chapters in this Province.

In the Craft Dick has been ProvGDC, and ProvJGW in Buckinghamshire, whilst in Northants & Hunts he is now a Group Officer for the South West. In 1996 Dick received the Craft Grand Rank of PAGDC, being promoted to PJGD 2018.

In the Royal Arch Dick is a PProvGSwdB in Buckinghamshire, a PProvDepGReg in Middlesex and PProvGScN for Northants & Hunts. He is also the current Scribe E in two Chapters of this Province, Fidelity and Beneventa.

In presenting his certificate for Meritorious Conduct to Excellent Companion Dick the Grand Superintendent thanked him not only for his dedicated service over many years but also for all that he is still currently doing for the Royal Arch in this Province.
