Companions,

It’s that time of the year again and once more we rapidly approach the Festive Season with the challenges of a New Year quickly to follow. And I suppose that challenges they will certainly be in the first couple of months of 2018 as I now prepare to stand down from office as at 31st January and arrangements are made, both locally and within Supreme Grand Chapter, for the installation of my successor, E Comp Jim Boughton.

Jim is so well known to you and although I say it myself, he will prove an inspired choice. He and I have worked together before and I can’t recommend him to you highly enough.

But again and perhaps for the final time in my present role, I now resort to the Social Media – be it Website, Facebook or Twitter – to wish you all and your families a very happy and peaceful Christmas and, most importantly, a healthy New Year.

I don’t accept all this nonsense and political correctness – for some 2000 years we have always referred to this special time of the year as CHRISTMAS and long may it continue (winter holiday my foot!) – our doors are open for anyone to join us as we celebrate a very special event that took place so long ago in a far and distant land. But may TTALGMH bring peace and goodwill to that region.

But at Christmas, when the grandchildren are asleep, the dogs have been walked and presents have been opened, it’s a good time to reflect on what we have all accomplished in the Royal Arch over the last 12 months or so and what we might expect in the year ahead. With batteries recharged and with renewed vigour and enthusiasm, let’s make it another successful year for the Supreme Degree, especially here in Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire.

The success of this Province is down to you, my friends – each and everyone of you - and on behalf of my colleagues on the Provincial Executive, may I thank you for your wonderful support as we share with you the very best of Companionship and friendship.

To you and your nearest and dearest, a very happy and peaceful Christmas and I’m sure that we’ll all meet up again very soon.

E Comp Wayne Williams
Most Excellent Grand Superintendent
