Thanks to the generous support of members and visitors together with the Provincial Grand Charity, Chicheley Lodge No. 607 has been able to donate £750 to the children's charity Dreamdrops, which is close to the heart of the Worshipful Master of Chicheley Lodge No. 607, WBro Huw Parry-Jones, and his wife. 

At the time their daughter, Bethan, was born 8-weeks early, WBro Huw and his wife were told that there was a strong possibility that her brain had been starved of oxygen.

Thankfully this proved not to be the case, but Bethan still spent 4-weeks in hospital including a stay in the the Special Care Baby Unit at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon. This proved a difficult and stressful time for both parents, but was made more bearable by the hospital's staff & facilities.

Dreamdrops is a Huntingdonshire children’s charity which makes a real difference to children and families who use hospital or specialist children’s health facilities. It was set-up with the aim of raising money to buy all those little (and large) extras that are not covered by NHS public funds, but which make a hospital stay more comfortable - or less stressful - for children and their families.

The charity's work doesn't just stop at the hospital door: funds are also used to help sick children who are being cared-for at home.

Anne-Marie Hamilton, Chairman of Dreamdrops Fundraising Committee, advised that the charity intended to use the money towards the refurbishment of the Special Care Baby Unit's parents' room.
