On Saturday the 13th of July 2019, Bro Shannon Driscoll of Chicheley Lodge No. 607 will attempt to complete the Race to The Stones event, a 100km race along what is often described as Britain's oldest road, the Ridgeway, which runs from the Chilterns to the North Wessex Downs.

Shannon has set a target time to complete the race in 10 hours.

Bro Shannon Driscoll putting in the miles!

Despite his love of running, Shannon has never asked for sponsorship when taking part in an event.

This race is a little different however.

Not only will it be particularly tough and require considerable training, but Shannon is running in support of The 3 Pillars - Feeding The Homeless Trust, a Masonic charity that exemplifies the principles of Freemasonry.

Anyone who feels able to support Shannon can do so via the following page:

In addition to his regular training, Shannon has a couple of other events coming up before Race to The Stones.

On Sunday the 28th of April, he will be taking part in the London Marathon.

Then, on Sunday the 26th of May, Shannon will be an official pacer helping Liverpool Marathon runners to achieve a goal time of 3-hours and 30-minutes.

Shannon's training progress can be monitored via the following Instagram page:

We wish Shannon all the very best in his running endeavours and congratulate him on supporting such a worth charity.
