Crusader Community Boating specialises in boat trips for disabled people of any age as well as elderly people in care homes.

On Tuesday the 12th of November 2019, WBro Gerry Crawford and WBro Mark Capel of Grey Friars Lodge No. 4990 visited their boat, The Mountbatten Crusader, in Blisworth Marina.

Mark Capel organised fundraising within Grey Friars Lodge which the Provincial Grand Charity supplemented. Consequently, Gerry Crawford presented Boat Manager and Committee Chairman, Peter Corns, with a cheque for £400 to help with running costs of the boat.

Peter Corns said:

Our service is run by volunteers and funded through voluntary donations. For the majority of passengers, the ability to come on the specially equipped boat, along with their carers, provides them with social and leisure opportunities they might well otherwise be denied. We hope this contributes, in some small way, to their social welfare, countering a feeling of isolation many often experience. Thank you for your contribution, which is most welcome.
