Having served as Master of John Pyel Lodge No. 5195 for the 2017/18 Masonic year, WBro John Marlow was thrilled to be able to distribute funds raised during that period to two charities close to his heart: The 3 Pillars - Feeding the Homeless Trust and Dementia Sings Out. Both charities received £515.

Dementia Sings Out was established under the umbrella of the Wellingborough Community Gospel Choir. It is open to anyone living with dementia.

For an hour every Thursday morning, the charity provides free sessions involving lively and interactive singing after which the participants and members of the choir join together for refreshments and a good old natter. Carers are also encouraged to participate.

The charity hopes to perpetuate good feeling through the joy of singing and the choir’s members are always pleased to see everyone leave with smiles on their faces.

Just before the lockdown, WBro John visited the Everyday Champions Church in Havelock Street, Wellingborough and presented the founder and Chair of the Choir, Ruth Bowe, with a cheque for the money raised. Needless to say, Ruth was absolutely delighted.

We congratulate WBro John and the Brethren of John Pyel Lodge for yet again supporting two very worthwhile charities.
