The importance of Bro Keith's challenge is also highlighted by WBro Michael Branch's recent treatment, the need for which was identified by prostate cancer testing supported by the Holy Royal Arch. Please click here for the relevant article.

Bro Keith writes:

I am sure you will all know of a man that has contracted Prostate Cancer. If not, then you have now as I was diagnosed in 2018.

Following fantastic treatment at Northampton General Hospital, I have hopefully recovered and can get on with life.

There are many men not quite as fortunate as me as I was diagnosed early after requesting a PSA test at my doctors'.

Having read the great rugby player Andy Ripley’s book (Ripley’s World) a number of years ago, I recognised some of the symptoms. Andy unfortunately was not quite so lucky and eventually died of prostate cancer. I found his great resolve and courage to do what he could whilst still alive inspirational.

I strongly advise that all men look up the symptoms and if in doubt please get a PSA blood test as soon as possible.

Research into this common disease continues but more funding is required so, alongside others, I am taking up the MARCH THE MONTH challenge.

I am walking 11,000 steps a day this March in aid of Prostate Cancer Research

This March, I am walking 11,000 steps a day to represent more than 11,000 dads, partners, grandads, sons, brothers, uncles and mates who die from prostate cancer every year.

This will be a task that hopefully many men are looking to complete, and I hope that you can share with me by donating to my Just Giving page.

Thank you.
