A Mason's life is a journey of discovery - about the world around him but, more importantly, about himself.

Every Freemason is encouraged to make a daily advancement in Masonic knowledge.

Although this can be a process of self discovery, various training and development initiatives are organised by the Province and overseen by the Provincial Education and Training Committee.

Provincial Education and Training Committee

In 2007 the Provincial Grand Master set up this Committee - a major expansion of the former Provincial Education and Training Committee.

It meets two or three times a year and deals with the following:

  • Orations and Lectures

  • Training and Mentoring

  • Museum and Libraries

  • Provincial Demonstration Group

  • Provincial Website & Social Media

The Education and Training Committee is concerned with

  • Provincial Information, learning and discussion

  • Mentoring Programme - for the newly joined (or re-joined) Mason

  • Initiates' Suppers - evenings of introduction to Freemasonry for new Masons

  • Demonstration Group performances and re-enactments (see below)

  • Orations led by the Provincial Grand Orator

  • Wardens' Traning - introduction to the Role of Worshipful Master

  • Meetings for Prime Lodge Office Holders (eg Treasurers, Secretaries, Directors of Ceremonies, Almoners)
