The Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire Chapter of Installed First Principals was held on Thursday 1st September 2022 at the Masonic Hall in Corby. Held early in the Masonic season it gave the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Excellent Companion Jim Boughton, the perfect opportunity to address almost 60 members of the province to discuss the Masonic year ahead.
EComp David Hargreaves (DC) EComp Norman Pope (Haggai Elect) EComp Mike Green (Haggai) EComp Jim Boughton (MEZ) EComp Mark Constant (MEZ Elect) EComp Tony Green (Joshua Elect) & EComp Kevin Foreman (ADC)
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent acknowledged that after coming through one of the most difficult times in Masonry and the impact of the Global Pandemic both Companions and Centres now faced an equally worrying time with the ‘Cost of Living Crisis’ and urged both Lodge and Chapter Almoners to be aware of their member’s needs.
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent reminded the companions of the next round of PSA testing acknowledging the support from the Craft in making sure these valuable and potentially lifesaving events continue. The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent also thanked EComp Mike Green for his efforts in launching the initiative and running the scheme in the early years and urged everyone to attend and encourage other members to act when letters are received in the coming months.
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent was delighted to confirm our new Provincial Grand Master, EComp Mark Constant as the Chapter MEZ Elect, along with EComp Norman Pope as H and EComp Tony Greene as J and wished them all the very best for the installation meeting.
Noting the very close links between both the Craft and The Royal Arch in our Province, the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent was proud of the percentage of Craft members who are also members of The Royal Arch in Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire. The Deputy Grand Superintendent, EComp Neill Handley outlined a new “Royal Arch Ambassador Scheme” which is hoped will strengthen the work already being done to encourage Brethren to complete their journey through “Pure Ancient Freemasonry” by becoming members of the Royal Arch. EComp Neil confirmed that the new “Lead Ambassadors” are being considered and will be contacted by the Executive in the coming weeks.
