Last night was the planned Royal Arch Team Visit to St Ivo Chapter. Since the recent announcement that MEGS is to stand down at the end of this month, it became quite a poignant meeting. It was a great turnout from the Active Provincial Team.
Wednesday 8th January was the planned Royal Arch Team Visit to St Ivo Chapter. Since the recent announcement that MEGS is to stand down at the end of this month, it became quite a poignant meeting. It was a great turnout from the Active Provincial Team.
At the festive board, this year’s DC’s presented MEGS with a Diorama.
MEGS has an interest in steam railways (from his boyhood days!).. he also has a large model railway at home.
One of his ‘favourite’ locos being the Breyer-Garrat, designed for heavy coal trains with some being based in Wellingborough.
So as a retiring presentation from the DC team, the diroma was put together….
The model loco has MEGS’s Chapter Numbers on the side along with the Triple Tau, the track speed sign shows ‘50’, It was MEGS ambition for the Royal Arch to achieve 50% of eligible Craft members to be members of the Royal Arch, a ‘chapter’ room is depicted showing MEGS discussing 50%, on a blackboard, a nod to teaching days with 5 DCs, the pedestal is also depicted with the candles as Jim always hopes to see correctly laid out.
