LAMS Northampton

The Northampton Lady Associate Members (known as LAMs) are now in their 34th year and boasting a membership of 110.

The main objective of the Lady Associate Members is to arrange social activities for its membership and through this main objective to raise funds towards the upkeep and maintenance of its meeting place, Freemasons' Hall, Sheaf Close, Northampton. A proportion of the monies raised may be donated to outside charities and deserving causes and each year the Chairman is invited to choose a particular charity. In the past, these have included the Air AmbulanceLocal HospiceNSPCC, and Mencap.

Those eligible for membership are the wife, partner, widow, daughter, mother or sister of a Freemason in membership of a Lodge.

LAMs Members meet regularly at monthly coffee mornings where themed raffles are held. The Chairman's Coffee Morning during August takes the form of a garden party. Four Luncheons are scheduled through the year with guest speakers. A recent extremely successful addition is the Gentlemen's Luncheon, held shortly after Christmas. These events provide a variety of opportunities to raise funds. At least two Outings a year are organised and enjoyed by many members. Where space allows, members' guests are invited to participate in the range of activities.

Membership of LAMs engenders a great sense of fellowship and purpose and all new members are made most welcome.

Anyone interested in becoming a member, should contact the Secretary Gill Bott through the Provincial Office.
