Almost 200 Brethren were privileged to attend the Ceremony of Dedication of the new Northampton Masonic Hall at Sheaf Close, Northampton on Saturday 31 August.
During the ceremony conducted by the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Max Bayes, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VWBro Dr Viv Thomas, presented him with the silver key. This had been presented on 6 September 1973 to RWBro Peter Palmer (then the Provincial Grand Master) at the consecration of the former Freemansons' Hall in St George's Avenue, Northampton.
The Chairman of the Hall Management Committee, WBro Jim Parker paid tribute to the leadership of the Provincial Grand Master. He also announced that, in appreciation of this, the Management Committee had decided that the main Lodge room would be known as the Max Bayes Room.
The Provincial Grand Master praised the efforts of all who had helped in any way in the process of the move from the former Masonic Hall and in the acquisition and building of the new Hall.

WBro Martin Lilley was promoted to Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden.
WBro Barry Howard, who project managed the whole building programme, was promoted to Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden and awarded the Provincial Grand Master's Certificate of Merit.
