Golden Jubilee Certificate No. 2 For WBro Bill Pendray

Thursday the 16th of November 2017 was a special evening for WBro Bill Pendray PPJGW (Surrey) when he was presented with a 50-year Golden Jubilee certificate by WBro Richard Brice, Provincial Grand Mentor, at the meeting of Lactodorum Lodge No. 8526 in Towcester.

WBro Pendray was initiated into Newark Priory Lodge No. 5396 in the Province of Surrey on the 6th of April 1963. He joined Lactodorum Lodge No. 8526 in 2008 after moving to Roade in 2007.

Sadly, WBro Bill's mother lodge has since been erased. He is no longer a subscribing member of any lodge in the Province of Surrey.

WBro Simon Key, IPM and ADC of Lactodorum Lodge, and Provincial Webmaster, had noticed that WBro Pendray was eligible for a Golden Jubilee certificate, but that he hadn't been presented one by the Province of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire.

It subsequently transpired that WBro Bill had received a certificate from the Province of Surrey, but WBro Richard Brice felt it only proper that he receive one from the Province in which he is a subscribing member.

The Provincial office was only too willing to oblige, so WBro Bill is now the proud recipient of two Golden Jubilee certificates.

WBro Pendray was clearly overjoyed at receiving the certificate and gave grateful thanks to the Province and the Lactodorum Brethren.

He said that he might have to juggle space in his living room to accommodate the new certificate, but that was a problem he was more than willing to put up with!

WBro Pendray was given pride of place at the right of the Worshipful Master, WBro Chris Oldiield, at the Festive Board where he gave a most interesting talk about the origin of Earl of Spencer Chapter No. 1420 in the Province of London of which he had been a member.

We congratulate WBro Bill on his outstanding achievement and look forward to the presentation of his 60-year certificate, which is now only 6-years away!
