As far as Bro Gerry McCrory from Old Northamptonian Lodge No 5694 is concerned, having tested positive for COVID-19 at Christmas, becoming very ill and spending time in hospital where he received excellent treatment and support from the NHS staff and his GP, there was no question that he should put himself forward for the NHS COVID-19 vaccination team.
Having been accepted, words can’t describe how extremely proud Bro Gerry is to be part of the biggest vaccination programme in British history.
Gerry said:
After they have done so much for me over the years, giving something back by working alongside the wonderful NHS has been the icing on the cake. The NHS was founded with the intention of caring for people “from the cradle to the grave”. Contributing to that goal by playing a small part in this amazing vaccination programme fills me with immense pride.
We congratulate Bro Gerry and all of the other volunteers for the time and dedication they have devoted throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
