Further to our article dated the 22nd of July 2021, we are pleased to report that Brethren and supporters of St John’s Lodge No 3972 - which meets at Sheaf Close, Northampton and is a member of the Universities Scheme - have done the Province proud by conveying the Universities Scheme Travelling Loving Cup, the DKW Cup, from The Freemasons’ Arms, Market Harborough to Rugby Masonic Centre, a journey of 28-miles by foot.
Northants and Hunts Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro Mark Constant took possession of the DKW Cup from WBro Dr Andy Green, APGM of Leicestershire and Rutland, on Friday the 6th of August 2021.
Then, on Saturday the 7th of August 2021, the intrepid group of Northants and Hunts walkers took the DKW Cup on the first stage of its journey, from The Freemasons’ Arms, Market Harborough to Freemasons’ Hall, Sheaf Close, Northampton.
Sunday the 8th of August 2021 saw the DKW Cup complete its journey by arriving safely at The Arnold House at Rugby, where WBro Mark Constant was pleased to hand over the cup to RWBro Phil Hall, Provincial Grand Master of Warwickshire.
