The Quarterly Communication meeting of Grand Lodge was held on Wednesday 14th June 2023, with our Province very well represented with over 130 brethren in attendance.
Our numbers were of such a nature that the Province of Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire were allocated their own seating area in Grand Lodge.
In addition to the usual business of the day, The Pro Grand Master, MW Bro Jonathan Spence then announced an additional item to the agenda.
This was to present `The Grand Master`s Order of Service to Masonry` to VW Bro Michael Herbert, PGSwdB, PPJGW (Leics & Rutland) for his services to Freemasonry across both the Craft, and also a unique range of Companion and other orders, over many, many years. Within the Province, VW Bro Michael is a member of Old Kimboltonians` Lodge No. 7204.
This was then followed by the concluding agenda item to receive a talk by VW Bro Graham Redman, PGSwdB, Deputy Grand Secretary, who gave an excellent presentation on the history of the award and how rare it is for it to made, with only 12 in existence at any one time.
We send our sincere congratulations to VW Bro Michael and hope to be able publish a more detailed feature with regard to this most special award in the near future.
Our Provincial party then adjourned to a nearby Hotel for an excellent Festive Board with a full house and great fellowship.
The Provincial Grand Master, RWBro. Mark Constant thanked everyone for their support, both today and throughout the season.
He continued,
'It has been a wonderful day and what a super sight at QC with over 130 N&H members enjoying their Freemasonry together.'
The PGM concluded by wishing everyone a very happy summer, with the Province in good shape and looking forward to the challenges ahead with great confidence.
All in all a Grand day out with wonderful ceremony, great food, fun and above all friendship!
