The Rushden Masonic Centre held an open day on Sunday 23rd July 2023 and despite the weather forecast, the skies remained mainly clear and dry making for a wonderful day.
Very well attended with a steady flow of visitors throughout the entire day produced a considerable number of enquiries from both prospective members and also existing Freemasons who have moved to the area, including WBro. Nino who had travelled from Turin in Italy!
The centre opened its doors to our visitors and the lodge room resulting in many 'wows' and 'oohs' as our experienced members held several guided tours. The sense of history and tradition always results in plenty of questions and conversation which the guides were only too pleased to answer and explain.
It was great to see so many of the Rushden senior members, alongside visitors from other nearby centres who turned out in force to support the event. We were especially delighted to see our Past Provincial Grand Master RW Bro Barrie Hall and his wife Joy, spending time in the lodge room with many visitors. It was also a wonderful chance for the brethren and their partners to meet up and chat during the summer break.
All of the visitors were treated to teas, coffee and a sumptuous selection of home made cakes in the dining room courtesy of the Rushden Lady Associate Members (LAMs).
To complete an excellent day, outside W Bro Steve Brown and his team manned the barbecue and made sure no one went home hungry with some tasty hotdogs and burgers. For those that wished to partake of a beverage or two, the bar was opened by our caterer, Bro Cesare Marinaro throughout the day.
