It was a complete surprise to most of the sixty Brethren when the PGM took to the black and white and asked WBro Glenn to join him. A well-informed and heartfelt presentation followed in which the PGM recognised many of WBro Glenn’s personal, career and Masonic accomplishments.

Initiated into Cytringan Lodge No 4048 on 3rd December 1973 WBro Glenn progressed through the offices and attained the Chair of King Solomon in 1985, which he repeated in 2018. His dedication was recognised when he was appointed to Provincial Grand Steward in 1987. Membership of Palmer Lodge of Provincial Grand Stewards No 9885 naturally followed the same year. WBro Glenn commented: “At that time the Palmer Lodge was still in its infancy, having been consecrated just six years earlier in 1981, with 25 Founders and a total membership of 56, there are now around 154 subscribing members”.

WBro Glenn’s career continued with promotions to Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer in 1991, Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 1999, Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in 2005 and Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden in 2018. WBro Glenn is also a member of The Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire Lodge of Installed Masters No 3422 and is a Founder Member of the Lodge of Heritage No 9344.

In addition to the commitment to his four Craft Lodges, WBro Glenn is prolific in Side Degrees and other orders, including the Royal Arch Chapter and Knights Templar. In Knights Templar, he attained the Chair in 1995 and served as Marshal from 2011 to 2023. He was a Founder of The George North Preceptory No 610 in 1998 and was appointed to Great Priory in 2017.

His professional career began with an engineering apprenticeship, after which he went on to complete his studies in mechanical engineering at Leicester Polytechnic. His work for both American and Swedish organisations took him into management and he gained his MBA at The University of Leicester.

He has a daughter, Rachael, and two grandchildren, Keira and Cameron, who together live in Florida. He lives in Desborough as does his adorable partner Maureen.

He is a keen rugby fan and an ardent supporter of Northampton Saints RFC. Also, a happy but infrequent golfer who in his own words: “is in need of improvement!”.

WBro Glenn is the father of the Lodge, a pillar of everything masonry stands for and highly respected by all. We thank him for his contribution to Freemasonry and wish him well for many more years of enjoyment in the craft.
