On Thursday 12th October 2023 at the regular Lodge meeting of St Peter’s No 442 at the Masonic Centre Ellindon, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro Mike Caseman-Jones was delighted to present a framed 50 year Certificate to WBro David John Sutton, the Lodge Organist.
He gave a brief history of WBro David’s Masonic career from his initiation into St Peter’s in September 1973, to him being installed into the Master’s Chair in 1986.
His keyboard skills have seen him at the organ for the last 40 years, not just in St Peter’s but as the organist for Petriburg Lodge 8767, which he joined in 1977 and the Dr Oliver Chapter 3964 where he was exalted in 1978. He became MEZ in that Chapter in 1991.
He was appointed the Provincial Grand Organist in the Craft from 2011 to 2014 and likewise in The Royal Arch from 1982 to 1984.
David currently holds the ranks of PPSGW in the Craft and PPGScribeN in the Royal Arch.
W.Bro David is a thoroughly dependable Mason who has given excellent service and in his response he quoted “and I look forward to the next 50!”
