On Friday 3rd November 2023, Silverstone Lodge 9877 welcomed our RW Provincial Grand Master, WBro Mark Constant, accompanied by WBro Vince Tindale, the Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies to their regular November lodge meeting. The Lodge initiated Mr Imad Moussa, a Software Engineer for Aston Martin Formula One Racing Team. Mr Moussa came to the Province via the Internet and with both his profession and living in Northampton there really was only one option when it came to joining a lodge in this Province.
Cable Tow Presentation – WBro Brian Barton, WBro Tim Almond
The WM, WBro Mike Woods was unable to attend the meeting due to his ongoing ill health, the members & guests alike all wished him well. As a result, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro Tim Almond occupied the Chair of King Solomon and expertly delivered the entire First Degree ceremony.
Before the initiation got underway there was a special presentation delivered by WBro Brian Barton from the Province of Dorset who had travelled to be a guest of the lodge and personally deliver a hand made ‘Nautical’ Cable Tow accented with a Chequered Flag specifically for Silverstone Lodge. This meant that Mr Moussa was the first candidate to use this very special addition to the lodge.

For those yet to visit Silverstone Lodge, it has a number of ‘nod’s’ to its Motorsport Heritage and interest. The tracing boards rest on an old F1 wheel & tyre in the centre of the lodge room, (pictured in the images above/below) and the WM, and on this occasion the Official Visitor enter process into the lodge with a rousing clip of the Formula 1 Grand Prix theme tune!
