The Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire Lodge of Installed Masters No.3422 meeting in June 2024 led by the Worshipful Master, RWBro. Mark Constant included a wide range of interesting talks and presentations for the many members and visitors attending.
The first item was to receive a presentation of the winning lecture from the 2023 Richard Sandbach Lodge of Research No.9600 ‘Provincial Lecture Competition held in January 2024.
This competition was won by WBro Rhys Perrin of Vale of Nene Lodge No.7006 with a wonderful oration entitled ‘Boaz & Jachin - Lifting the Veil’, which was warmly received on the evening.
The competition was arranged by Provincial Orator WBro William Caswell, who commented, ‘My congratulations to WBro Rhys on an excellent and informative lecture which was enjoyed by all. This years Lecture competition is now open to all Masons for presentations ideally of around 20 minutes in length on any aspect concerning Masonry or Masonic lives.’
Thanks were also given to WBro Nigel Morley of Pomfret Lodge No.360 for his excellent presentation of a second lecture entitled ’Now and Always’.
The next item was to receive a presentation from the Provincial Grand Learning and Development Officer, WBro Roger Allanson (pictured above) on the importance of Learning and Development in Membership Engagement and Retention, and his new role and strategy for the coming year.
WBro. Roger spoke passionately covering many topics including his support for ;
- Masonic 'Summer Schools' coordinated by WBro Mark Titterton
- 'Summer Quiz', which may be expanded in future (click here to separate website article)
- 'Initiates Evenings' in the new season
- Lodges to consider breaking up their order of ceremonies to include Demonstrations, Orations or Solomon 'Nuggets’.
- Develop a series of Podcasts on a wide range of subjects
- The Provincial Demonstration Team, which is holding a meeting on 'the way forward’ on Sunday 21st July at York Road, Kettering 10am - 12noon.
