Congratulations to WBro Eddie Storey PProvAGDC of Unity Lodge No. 9495 in Corby who last night received 'The Silver Matchbox' award from The Emulation Lodge of Improvement in London, having delivered a perfect Initiation Ceremony.
The Lodge of The Emulation Lodge of Improvement has been sponsored by The Lodge of Unions No.256 since 1830 and has a most interesting history.
Instituted in 1898, 'The Silver Matchbox' is such a difficult standard to achieve because to earn the award, the recipient has to deliver the whole degree unaided without any ritual or procedural errors in any way.
The Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Mark Constant commentated on WBro Eddie’s achievement ;
“As an Emulation Province proud of the quality of our ritual delivery, I am delighted that we now have another member of our Province who has been recognised and achieved such a high level of proficiency in his ritual. Eddie joins WBro Billy Glover as the only two regular members of the Province who have achieved a Silver matchbox award.
Watch this space as there is the possibility of our Province achieving a Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire Emulation Lodge of Improvement in the not too distant future!
