The United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) has taken full page ads in The Times, Daily Telegraph and Guardian calling for an end to discrimination of its 200,000 plus members.
Headlined ‘Enough is Enough’, the ad is a personal letter from Dr David Staples, Chief Executive Officer, which reiterates the organisation’s values and highlights how throughout its 300-year history when people have suffered discrimination, Freemasonry has welcomed them into lodges as equals.
Such is the frustration amongst members about the level of prejudice, Dr Staples has also written to the Equality and Human Rights Commission to make its case.
The Combined Southern Festival of Stability Meeting is a bi-annual event, which for the past two seasons has been hosted by Corinthian Lodge and held in Brentwood Essex. It is an all-inclusive event that is very well supported with representatives from many sister lodges swelling the numbers and taking an active part in the Initiation ceremony.

During the summer of 2017, a great deal of work was carried out at Wellingborough Masonic Hall to greatly enhance the dining area.
This involved repainting, moving the entrance door, and installation of swing doors to the kitchen and a sprung floor for the dance area.

On Thursday the 7th of December 2017 at Pemberton Lodge No. 3039, WBro David Burton APGM made a surprise presentation of a 60-year Diamond Jubilee certificate to WBro Frank Brierley.
