Our fourth event of 2025 was held on 10th July at Browns Fishery, Great Addington with a very warm day to get us off to a great start and the bacon butties most welcome !
A hard working team of 14 volunteer helpers had arrived early to set up ready for our guests. Wrenn SEN students arrived first, followed by a group from Latimer Arts College and all were assigned to their casters and away we went. Within a few minutes shouts of FISH were heard around the lake.
We were delighted that Assistant Provincial Grand Master W.Bro Dale Gilbert was able to join us and he was immediately put to work by Mick Warren signing and making up the certificates for each of our guests. Then followed a walk around the lake to see and take time to chat with the participants, commenting on how these events were so worthwhile, bringing so much enjoyment to all involved.
Jim Vokes was as always on hand making sure all were kept hydrated and was guest photographer for the day. All the participants seem to enjoy themselves and gave all the helpers a rousing cheer before we handed out the certificates, which always creates a buzz seeing happy faces when called up to receive each one - it is just fantastic !
We now look forward to our last event in September and once again would like to extend an invite to anyone who would like to get involved with us to get in touch and come and see for yourself. In particular, we are desperate to recruit more casters, so if you do fish and would like to pass on your experience to others please get in touch.
You will need a DBS check which we sort in house.
Please just get in touch and it will be all sorted for next season
