A Night of Family and Fraternity at Thistle & Rose Chapter

Thistle & Rose Chapter held its Installation Meeting last night — a truly memorable evening filled with tradition, family pride, and distinguished company.

The Chapter was honoured by the presence of the Third Grand Principal, EComp Chris Mullen, as the Official Visitor, accompanied by EComp Vince Tindale, Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, who acted as his Director of Ceremonies.

What made the evening particularly special was the unique and heartwarming display of family connection within Freemasonry. In an extraordinary turn of events, a father installed his son, and a son installed his father into the Principals’ Chairs. Past Third Grand Principal, EComp Steve Seward, proudly installed his son James Seward as Joshua, while EComp David Hopkins had the honour of installing his father, EComp Paul Hopkins, as Haggai.

The Chapter was further graced by the attendance of several Grand Chapter Officers and Active Provincial Officers, including the Past Grand Superintendent, EComp Jim Boughton, who was warmly welcomed back as a newly made Honorary Member of Thistle & Rose Chapter.

It was an evening that beautifully encapsulated the values of companionship, continuity, and family that lie at the heart of Royal Arch Masonry — a night that will surely be remembered by all who attended.
