The Masonic Charitable Foundation recently gave a £60,000 grant to Little Miracles, who support families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions from their base in Bretton, Peterborough.
The charity has facilities and equipment in Bretton, Peterborough, which allows the youngsters to enjoy a sensory environment and specialise in providing advice, guidance, support, activities, training and safe places to any family that has a child with an additional need, disability or life-limiting condition. This includes providing support before they are diagnosed and from birth to 25. The MCF Grant will pay for and provide the equipment at the centre and for home visits from the specialist team.
On Tuesday 23rd December 2025, W.Bro Bill Marshall of Fitzwilliam Lodge, who made Little Miracles his chosen charity for his year, visited the centre to present a cheque for a further £3,000. This was made up of £1,500 raised, plus £1,500 match funded by the Province. Accompanying W.Bro Bill was W.Bro Roy Stockbridge, a Fitzwilliam Past Master who also raised money for the charity during his Mastership, as well as organising a Ball for youngsters with congenital heart conditions and carers at Ellindon in 2022.
Charity CEO Michelle King said, “All charities need support, and we are overwhelmed by the £60,000 grant, which will help pay for the equipment and care, and to receive donations like the one from the Fitzwilliam Lodge means we can provide other support. For example, when Ahmed – who is holding the big cheques with Bill and Roy, was in hospital, we visited him and took him toys, offering him the support he needed at the time. We can only do that by these donations.”
