The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, EComp Jim Boughton hosted the Provincial Grand Chapter Annual Investiture Meeting at The Griggs Centre, Sheaf Close.
The well attended day was a great success and a very special day for those receiving Active Ranks, First Appointments and Promotions. As part of his address, the Grand Superintendent thanked the Provincial Grand Master for his ongoing support and provided those attending with an update on Membership Challenge, the Ambassadors Scheme and confirmation that Supreme Grand Chapter have permitted The Grand Superintendent to allow several Chapters within the Province to trial a shortened Exultation Ceremony starting in the new season.
A highlight of the day and special mention must go to Companion John Wooding on his retirement as Provincial Grand Janitor after 15 years in office. He was presented with a beautifully crafted wooden ‘Janitors Sword’ to commemorate his retirement. As John was being escorted back to his seat, the Grand Superintendent asked the Provincial Scribe E to read a letter received from Grand Scribe E which announced Comp John’s award by the Grand Superintendent of the Certificate of Meritorious Service to Royal Arch Freemasonry.
The Grand Superintendent finished the day thanking everyone for making it such a special and enjoyable day, wishing everyone a relaxing summer recess to recharge batteries and look forward to the new season from September.
