On Tuesday 10th September Cytringan Chapter held their Installation Convocation with The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent attending as the Official Visitor. A great turn out of this year’s Active Officers contributed to what was already a well-attended meeting.
The Companions retired briefly at one point when EComp Jeff Freeman’s back went into spasm and he had to retire from the Chapter Room, thankfully by the end of the meeting he had recovered enough to carry on with the festive board. In his absence the ‘big guns’ stepped in to help run the rest of the ceremony in the persons of the Past Second Provincial Grand Principal EComp John Payne standing in as DC and the visiting Active Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies EComp Mick Smith, standing in as ADC.
The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent also took the opportunity to invest two Companions with Active Posts, EComp David Markham was appointed as Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies standing in for EComp Derek Hornbuckle and EComp Jason Smith was invested as Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies having been unavoidably absent from the Provincial Grand Chapter Convocation in the summer.
Back in the driving seat EComp Jeff Freeman kept the festive board moving smoothly. The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent provided the Companions with a detailed insight to the season ahead, an update on how the Membership Challenge is being achieved across the Province and confirmed that the first Exultation using the new shorter workings will be carried out at Pemberton Chapter on Thursday 19th September.
