Boost for Pen Green Centre from Corby Lodges

Pen Green Children’s Centre in Corby offers a vital service helping local children to deal with adverse complexity. More often than not, these children are living in poverty.

Local Corby Freemasons and the Provincial Grand Charity have teamed-up to donate £1,800 to the Centre in order to provide a break at a specialist holiday centre for a number of the children.

Corby Group Officer and Master of Thistle and Rose Lodge No. 6644, WBro Steve Burton, made the donation to Sophie Branston at the Centre on Friday the 5th of July 2019, a lovely warm and sunny day.

Also present were WBro Milan Crooks (Master of Lodge of St. Giles Lodge No. 8736), WBro John Russell (Treasurer of Thistle and Rose Lodge), WBro Martin Branston (Assistant Director of Ceremonies of Ferraria Lodge No. 8489), and WBro George Peel (Master of Lodge of Unity No. 9495).

Joint Head of Centre, Tracy Gallagher, wrote:

Thank you so much for taking the time to come in and meet with us last week. We really appreciate all the support you are offering us. It really matters to us that the children in Corby get the best start and are able to access exciting play and learning opportunities.

Furthermore, the cheque, a photo of the presentation, and a thank-you note were given pride-of-place in the Centre!

We congratulate the Corby lodges for once again joining forces in an effort to give support where it's needed most, the central tenet upon which Freemasonry is founded.

Well done indeed!
