On Monday the 24th of June 2019, representatives from the three Daventry Lodges were thrilled to be able to present The Friends of Danetre Hospital (FODH) with a cheque for £3,000 representing a donation of £500 from each lodge plus £1,500 from the Provincial Grand Charity.
Ian Robinson, Treasurer of FODH, said:
This donation will help with our aim of providing fall-monitors for every bed in the wards at Danetre Hospital. Fall monitors are alarms that indicate when vulnerable patients are either in danger of, or are actually falling from, a bed or chair. Their necessity became apparent from an analysis of previous incidents, and their aim is to give an early warning so staff can react speedier and prevent further problems. They are not required by everyone, but do need to be made available for all ward-beds.
In a letter of thanks to WBro Dick Godwin (Senior South-West Group Officer), Arthur Pritchett, Secretary of FODH wrote:
Over the years, the Daventry Lodges have been very generous to The Friends of Danetre Hospital, and it is great to see this continuing in 2019. In the 20-years that FODH has been working for the hospital, a considerable sum of money has been raised to purchase equipment and provide training in an effort to ensure that both patients and staff have everything they need.
We congratulate the Daventry lodges and the Provincial Grand Charity for supporting such a worthy charity.
