On the 1st of March, 2022, Gerald Davies of Ceres Lodge No 6977 set out on his unsupported solo walk from Land’s End to John o’ Groats to raise money for the 2024 MCF Festival.

The photo shows Gerald Davies at the start of his walk. You may notice that the distance to John o’ Groats shown on the signpost is 874 miles. Gerald will walk a distance of 1,323 miles to John o’ Groats because he is not taking a direct route (see map below).

Gerald said:

I am really looking forward to this. I had a dry start, but it soon turned wet as forecast. This will be good practice for the TGO Challege.

The TGO Challenge is a self-supported Scottish Coast to Coast backpacking walk which Gerald is to undertake when he has completed his Land’s End to John o’ Groats walk.

Although he is not looking for physical support, donations to the 2024 MCF Festival in recognition of his efforts will be gratefully received.
