Our first Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire `Family Fun Day` held in Silverstone on Saturday 13th May 2023 was a great success, with support from across the Province and over 700 brethren, family and friends attending on the day.
There was something for everyone with brethren from Masonic centres in Northampton, Peterborough, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Stamford, Huntingdon, Towcester and others, providing a variety of games and activities which made for a day of fun and laughter for all age groups.
The ball Jenga, babybel cheese rolling game and Tombola were very popular with young and old alike.
There were so many highlights to the day it is not possible to mention them all.
However, one which proved very popular was the Provincial Grand Master volunteering to have wet sponges thrown at him, which raised over £70.
Others were the classic car display by Mulliner Classic Car Lodge and the bike display by The Widows Sons. Both generated a lot of interest and many admiring viewers.
The highlight of the evening was the live music from 5pm to 10.30pm provided by four bands, The Mottrams, Geri Patricks, Dizzy Miss Lizzie and Race Track Rockers, which was great fun.
APGM WBro Tim Almond, who had kindly volunteered his home gardens and facilities for the event said:
`It was a wonderful day ! Thank you to all who have contributed in so many ways to the success of this event. In particular, I would like to say a personal thank you the members of the Palmer Lodge of Provincial Grand Stewards who helped set up the event on the Friday, manned the car park and gate on the day and turned up again on the Sunday morning to break everything down and litter pick the field. There was great support and much enjoyment by all who attended`.
