Socrates No.373 200th Anniversary Dinner

On the 9th December 2023 Socrates Lodge No.373 celebrated 200yrs with their Bicentenary Celebrations.

Reading through the history of the Lodge, Jude Miles, wife of WBro Phil Miles, ProvSGW and the daughter of the late WBro John Benson PJGD, noted that the George Hotel, Huntingdon was first used by the Lodge on 9th December 1823. A quick check in the diary confirmed that two hundred years to the exact date was a Saturday, and so the idea for a Celebration Dinner was planned by Jude and Phil for Socrates members, wives, partners, and friends to share this memorable occasion and provide a finale to only the second Bicentenary held in the Province.

To rapturous applause, renowned Masonic after dinner speaker Mike Neville delivered a highly informative and entertaining speech about the Goodies and Baddies of Freemasonry, based on his latest book Crafty Characters. WBro Neville thanked Socrates Lodge for their extremely generous donation to his supported Charities.

At the end of a convivial evening a Lady from each table had the privilege of taking home this most beautiful and stunning flower arrangement.
