On Saturday 28 March, the Peterborough Light Blues hosted the annual lunch for masonic widows at the Peterborough Masonic Centre in Ellindon.
This has become a popular event, especially since the pandemic, and it was a livelieraffair with twenty-one ladies in attendance. Treated to one of Artur’s tasty meals and accompanied by wine at the table, conversations flowed freely and at length. Afterwards, every table took part in a quiz, which was based on familiar, and not so familiar, events and personalities of the 60s and 70s. The winning table received a bottle of wine each, but everyone went away clutching a small basket of flowers.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon with smiles, laughter, and tasty food. Messages of gratitude have been received, and anticipation is already building for next year's lunch.
Thank you to W.Bro Scrannage, his team, and Lodge Almoners for organising such a wonderful event.
