It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of WBro Roddie Paterson, PPJGW on 7th August 2023.

Roddie had left hospital to return to his home in Lytham St Anne's with his wife Pauline, but very shortly had to be re-admitted into palliative care.

Lodge of Perseverance No 455 WM, WBro Peter Bright said; `He will be sorely missed by those who were privileged to know him`.

Back in 2018, we were delighted to include a feature on Roddie and Pauline Paterson`s wedding that year entitled 163-Years Young & A Wedding to Remember!

Roddie was initiated in 1992 into Thistle and Rose Lodge No.6644, becoming Master in 2003 and also held the office of Chaplain.

In 2007, WBro Roddie joined Anglo Scottish Lodge No.8844 and also became a joining member of Lodge of Perseverance No.455 in Kettering, quickly becoming invaluable to both lodges with his willingness, often at short notice, to take up any office and always doing a superb job.

Anglo Scottish Past Master WBro. Alex Thomson paid this tribute to Roddie;

“The members of Anglo Scottish Lodge No. 8844 were deeply saddened to hear of the death of W Bro Roddie Paterson. Roddie joined the Lodge in 2007 and became WM in 2009 and went on to become Chaplain. He is remembered with great fondness as a wonderful man and Mason who was always friendly and cheerful. He was a great source of advice and guidance for many of the then junior members who are now more senior in the Lodge and I am sure that we all have a lot to thank him for. He was a great friend and brother who did indeed live respected and has died regretted.”
