The Centenary meeting of St John's Lodge No. 3972 held on Monday the 17th of February 2020 at Sheaf Close, Northampton proved to be a wonderful occasion.

The members of the Lodge warmly welcomed members of their mother lodge, Pomfret Lodge No. 360, their daughter lodge, Lodge of St James No. 6838, and five members of New Monkland Montrose Lodge No. 88 (affectionately known as the 'Scottish Contingent'!), who after being piped-in by WBro Jack Bogan, received a special welcome from the Master of St John's Lodge, WBro Mike Long.

Then, with the standard’s unfurled, the sword held high and the bagpipes playing, the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Max Bayes, together with the Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, WBro Lou Orsi and WBro Mark Constant, and many active Provincial officers entered the Lodge to another warm reception.

The Provincial Grand Master subsequently took the Chair and led a wonderfully fraternal and heartfelt Centenary celebration-ceremony during which he was most pleased to present the Lodge with their Centenary Warrant.

During the ceremony, the Provincial Grand Chaplain, WBro Rev John Simmons, gave an oration centered on the Gospel of St John, which was delivered in a most splendid manner and was well-received by all the brethren present, who found it most enlightening and though-provoking.

All in all, there were close to 100-brethren attending the Lodge, 94 of whom also attended the festive board, which topped-off a night that will no doubt be fondly remembered for many years to come by all those who shared in this wonderful Centenary occasion.

The Master and Brethren of St John’s Lodge are most grateful for the support received from the PGM and his Provincial team, which helped make the event such a wonderful success.

We congratulate St John's Lodge on their achievement and wish them many happy years to come.
